Dusan, where are you? We need your help in getting
rid of Jay Stevens alias Dr. Jai Maharaj whom you
call a sad monkey. This morning 20 of 30 threads
on the title page of the Google topics list are by him.
Everything is false about him, his Usenet name,
his title, his pretended engagement for the Hindu
community, his pretended compassion for abused
children. His only concern is to acquire clients who
pay good money for his astrological nonsense,
and he coldly calculates that he can find them
among Hindus: they are many, they are prone
to superstition, and, being of a minor intelligence,
he thinks, they won't see through his cynic scheme
and find out what he really has in mind.

Ohio family suing Ky. Baptist camp where alleged abuse occurred in 2004

The Associated Press
Fox 49 WXIN
Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Somerset, Ky. (AP) - An Ohio family is suing a south-central Kentucky

Baptist camp alleging that negligence led to the sexual molestation
of one of the family's children.

The Commonwealth Journal in Somerset reports that the civil suit
against Camp Victory was filed by the family of a sexual abuse
victim.

The suit stems from a criminal investigation of a minister, Claude
Steven Harmon, who was a pastor at a church in Maineville, Ohio, when
the incident allegedly occurred in 2004.

Police say Harmon confessed to fondling two young boys when his
church was using the camp's facilities for a retreat. Harmon is in
prison in Ohio in a molestation case in that state.

The suit alleges Camp Victory was negligent, leading to suffering by
the victim, identified as "J. Doe."

An attorney for the camp's owner, George Griffis, did not return a
call for comment.

Irish Sex Abuse Victims Ask Church for $1 billion

Beliefnet
Wednesday February 10, 2010

Vatican City (RNS) - Irish victims of clerical sex abuse have asked
Pope Benedict XVI for over $1.37 billion in compensation, in a letter
that the head of Ireland's Catholic Church will hand-deliver to the
pope next week.

Cardinal Sean Brady received the letter from representatives of sex
abuse victims on Monday (Feb. 8), according to a report in the Irish
Independent.

The letter also requests a meeting with Benedict during his
forthcoming visit to Britain, expected to take place in September.

Bishop John McAreavey of Dromore said the pope will receive the
letter when he meets with Irish bishops next Monday and Tuesday,
reportedly to discuss last November's Murphy Commission report.

That report traced a pattern of clerical physical and sexual abuse
over three decades, from 1975-2004, which had been covered up by the
Archdiocese of Dublin.

In December, Benedict expressed "outrage," "shame," and "profound
regret" over the report's revelations, and the Vatican announced he
would write a letter to Irish Catholics "in which he will clearly
indicate the initiatives that are to be taken in response to the
situation." The pope's letter is widely expected to be published
shortly after next week's meeting.

Four Irish bishops have already resigned as a consequence of the
Murphy Commission's revelations.

A movie which can be watched less than once , it does redeem
itself in the second half. Backround music is quite good. All these
apologetics for Islam get a few lusty blows against it by error. It
quotes a few benign verses of the quran but doesnt mention thousands
cursing unbelievers and promoting war 'till the whole world is
Islamic'' Quran.
San Francisco is shown really well.

"apologetics for Islam get a few lusty blows against it by error. It

Quran."

I heard him interviewed on the radio this morning about the movie.

His motivation was not so much to promote islam but to explain why new
york 911 was not the actions of the average muslim one would encounter
in daily life.

That is why his character repeated to all he encountered that he was not
a terrorist.

Now if we could only encounter everyone who is not a terrorist or one
who encourages terrorism or excuses those who perform terrorist acts.
Or those who in one broad brush make all of one group the same as the
few who are terrorists.

This regardless of religion or place of origin. There are enough
examples to go around and none escape their responsibility in this

14th century Narasimha temple found

Special Correspondent
The Hindu
Feb. 8, 2010

This is one of the many such temples (about 15 of them) in and around
the cantonment

it has Jaya-Vijaya statues buried about 10 feet below ground

Heritage monument: Fourteenth century Narasimha Swamy temple found at
the foothill of Kondaveedu Fort in Guntur district on Sunday. --

GUNTUR: A Vaishnavaite temple of Narasimhaswamy was found on Sunday
by Puttakota villagers in the valley close to Mahadwaram of
cantonment of erstwhile Reddi kings of Kondaveedu.

While the main deity is missing, the architecture of the temple
suggests it was one of those from the early days of Reddi kings (1325
AD) establishing their capital at Kondaveedu and lived at the
foothill and built some Vaishnavaite and Shaivaite temples for their
religious purposes. This is one of the many such temples (about 15 of
them) in and around the cantonment built by the kings, who ruled from
this place and stayed there for more than 100 years.

The village president K. Anka Rao who visited the spot along with
Kondaveedu Development Committee convener K. Siva Reddy said that
this temple was not visible all these days due to the thick growth of
trees. A roofed temple, like some on the hill-top, it has Jaya,
Vijaya statues buried about 10 feet below ground.

Variety of rocks

Statues of the Dwarapalaks found at the place have been kept securely
at that place and the Department of State Archeology Assistant
Director E. Sivanagi Reddy has been informed of the new found
treasure and they would take further action to protect it. Built with
red stone, it is believed to be red granite as written in the history
books on Kondaveedu, while these range of hills forming part of
Eastern Ghats, constitute Charnockites variety of rocks.

Charnockite suite or series are a group of igneous rocks, variably
metamorphosed of wide distribution and great importance in India, Sri
Lanka, Madagascar and Africa. The name was given by Dr T. H. Holland
from the fact that the tombstone of Job Charnock, the founder of
Calcutta, is made of a block of this rock, said Professor of Geology
in Hindu College A. Subrahmanyam.

A museum displaying the history and archeology of Reddi kings needs
to be set up on top of the hill said, Mr. Subhrahmanyam and to
attract academicians and researchers on geological aspects of the
rock formations and earth in this region, a geological museum
integrated into the proposed one would serve a good purpose, he
added.

Terrorist attack is "highly likely" security services say

The threat of a terrorist attack has been raised to "severe" amid
fears that al-Qaeda is planning a wave of attacks following the
Detroit bombings.

By Duncan Gardham, Security Correspondent
Daily Telegraph
January 22, 2010

The decision follows analysis by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre
(JTAC), a unit within MI5, and indicates an attack is now "highly
likely."

It was made following briefings to the Prime Minister by the heads of
the security services MI5, MI6 and GCHQ and a meeting of the
Government's Cobra emergency committee.

The move comes as foreign ministers are preparing to meet in London
next week to discuss the threat of terrorism in Yemen and
Afghanistan.

Those present will include Hamid Karzai, the Afghan President, Ban
Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General and US Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton.

Sources said the Detroit attack on Christmas Day, which demonstrated
a new methodology and increased threat, was "one of the factors" but
said the decision is taken after looking at intelligence "in the
round."

MI5 is watching around 2,000 individuals across Britain although the
activity among domestic extremists is not thought to have risen
significantly in recent months.

Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary said: "I should stress that there is
no intelligence to suggest than an attack is imminent.

"JTAC keeps the threat level under constant review makes its
judgments based on a broad range of factors, including the intent and
capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and
overseas.

"We still face a real and serious threat to the UK from international
terrorism so I would urge the public to remain vigilant and carry on
reporting suspicious events to the appropriate authorities and to
support the police and security services in their continuing efforts
to discover, track and disrupt terrorist activity."

Gordon Brown warned earlier this week that "a number of terrorist
cells are actively trying to attack Britain and other countries."

His speech to the House of Commons came after he received a briefing
on the latest intelligence at a meeting of the Cabinet's National
Security Committee.

Mr Brown said the failed attack over Detroit on Christmas Day
signalled "the first operation mounted outside Arabia by al-Qaeda in
the Arabian Peninsula."

He also talked about the increased threat from Somalia in East Africa
and the Sahel in West Africa, adding that there would be a greater
degree of intelligence sharing with foreign countries.

Umar Farouq Abdulmutallab, who tried to set off a bomb in his
underwear, has warned his FBI interrogators that up to 20 "more like
me" may be preparing further attacks.

The government is setting up a new 'watch list' system to try and
stop terrorist suspects boarding planes.

MI5, MI6 and the GCHQ listening centre have also begun setting up
"joint investigating and targeting teams", which are designed to
address potential threats before suspects might reach Britain.

The teams are designed to work with the Joint Terrorism Analysis
Centre to collect, share and use intelligence.

The US Department for Homeland Security said the measures effectively
put Britain at the same alert level as America following the
Christmas Day attack.

Severe is the fourth of five threat levels. The level was reduced to
"substantial" last July for the first time in four years after a
judgment was made that there had been a "chilling" effect on
terrorism in Britain.

The assessment is based on a range of factors including intelligence,
current terrorist activity, comparison with events in other countries
and previous attacks.

MI5 say that it is rare that specific intelligence about a threat is
available and can be relied on and that more often, judgements about
the threat will be based on a wide range of information, which is
often "fragmentary".

Those elements include what is known about the capabilities of
terrorists, the method they may use, and the potential scale of the
attack as well as the targets they would consider attacking.

UK terror threat raised to 'severe', Home Secretary announces

The UK's terror threat level has been raised from substantial to
severe, Home Secretary Alan Johnson has announced.

By Andrew Hough
Published: 8:37PM GMT 22 Jan 2010

The announcement means that an attack is now "highly likely".

Mr Johnson said that although the threat had increased there was no
intelligence to suggest an attack was imminent.

The Home Secretary was not specific about the threat, but indicated
it was not linked to the Detroit bombing on Christmas Day.

"The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre has today raised the threat to
the UK from international terrorism from substantial to severe," he
said.

"This means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but I should
stress that there is no intelligence to suggest than an attack is
imminent.

"JTAC keeps the threat level under constant review and makes its
judgments based on a broad range of factors, including the intent and
capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and
overseas."

He said that authorities were "not being specific about this, we are
not gong to be specific about this".

"In his statement to Parliament on security and counter terrorism
earlier this week, the Prime Minister said that the first and most
important duty of government is the protection and security of the
British people," he said.

"We still face a real and serious threat to the UK from international
terrorism so I would urge the public to remain vigilant and carry on
reporting suspicious events to the appropriate authorities and to
support the police and security services in their continuing efforts
to discover, track and disrupt terrorist activity.

"We have a very focused counter terrorism facility in this country
and the public should be reassured by that."

He added: "The fact is we keep this under review and moving to this
different threat level means we have to be more alert and it means
that an attack has moved to the level of being likely, but we have
absolutely no intelligence to suggest that it is imminent."

President's kin usurped land, says court

Vaibhav Ganjapure & Vaidehi More, TNN
The Times of India
Thursday, February 11, 2010

Nagpur - A local court in Maharashtra has upheld a farmer's plea that
India's first family had fraudulently usurped a little more than one
hectare of his farmland. Surprisingly, the order was made last
December 7 but never made public since the order wasn't given to
either party until Tuesday.

In the order, the court of Daryapur subdivisional officer Ashok
Amankar directed striking off the names of President Pratibha Patil
Shekhawat's family from the records and upheld Kishor Bansod's claim
that the transfer of ownership was done using fraudulent means.

The SDO, while partly allowing an appeal filed by the aggrieved
farmer, cancelled a mutation entry of October 5, 2007, which named,
apart from the president's husband Devisingh Shekhawat, family
members Siddheshwar, Raghusingh, Bhawarsingh, Kishorsingh and Omsingh
Shekhawat.

Devisingh told TOI on Wednesday the allegation was baseless and
nothing but a publicity gimmick by the appellant. "The total land of
1.02 hectare was jointly held by Bansod and Siddheshwar Shekhawat and
five others," he said.

Devisingh clarified that the court has only partially allowed the
appeal while directing revenue officials to measure the land afresh
and restore ownership to the original joint owners. Devisingh claimed
that Bansod had been illegally cultivating on their piece of land and
since he was also working as part-time journalist, was seeking undue
publicity. "It might be an error committed by the officials who
measured it. I have only one acre of land in my name which I would
have donated to any of my family members," he said.

Congress party also rushed to his defence, saying it would be
premature to judge him guilty. "It would be wrong to jump to
conclusions on the basis of one-sided facts," said party spokesman
Abhishek Singhvi.

The SDO also directed superintendent of town planning in Daryapur in
Amravati district to measure the disputed tract and asked the
Shekhawat family to bear the cost of the exercise.

According to the appellant's counsel Sunil Gajbhiye, Shekhwat
family's land was adjacent Bansod's land measuring 1.02 hectares in
Chandrapur Khallar village and Shekhawat's wanted Bansod to sell it
to them.

Later, revenue officials got the ownership entry in the name of
Shekawat family members and it was made official on October 5, 2007
without informing the appellant, Bansod alleged.

Bansod filed an application under Section 247 of Maharashtra Land
Ownership Act 1966 before Daryapur SDO's court, demanding immediate
stay on the alleged illegal transfer of his land by the Shekhawat
family. He contended that after his refusal to sell his land,
Shekhawat family members connived with local officials and
transferred his land in their names on the key documents.

Only a small bit was left with Bansod as per records.

that require significant IT infrastructure related investments," said Manish
Bahl, Research Manager at Springboard Research. "With the CIOs primarily

on,' there is great interest in cost-cutting measures."

According to Springboard's latest executive brief release, "India IT Market
Predictions 2010," Data center transformations, IT manageability
advancements, SaaS and virtualization investments are also helping companies
drive 'economies of scale' by reducing operational expenditures, both from
the business and IT perspective, while increasing productivity.

India is being undermined by serious caste and social problems. Maoist
terrorism is spreading and the Muslim threat continues.

Make top MBA grads village school headmasters: Sibal
Thursday,11 February 2010, 03:10 hrs

New Delhi: With a belief that graduates from the premier B-schools can
handle village schools better, Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal has devised a
new mantra of sending top B-school pass-outs from the institutes to head
village schools. "A number of IIM and IIT students come from rural
background and they want to give back something to their villages. We should
explore this opportunity," Sibal said.
While interacting with women entrepreneurs in Delhi, Sibal spoke on the need
of leaders in education, including capable principals in large numbers,
especially in the model schools to be set up across the country, reports
Shruba Mukherjee of Deccan Herald. "I have interacted with students in the
prestigious B-schools and many of them want to opt for teaching. Why can't
we have graduates from the Indian Institutes of Management as principals in
these schools?" he questioned.

"On a normal course, it takes about nine years for a teacher to become
principal in a school. But if an IIM or IIT graduate undertakes the
Leadership Development program in a university, he can be recruited as a
principal within two years," the Minister said. However, after serving a
certain period a person would be free to go back to the industry if he is
willing.
