I agree. A time will come when the West-think about the Paki army+ISI will
change from "necessary evil" to "unnecessary" and "disposable".

How's that India-Pakistan reunification prediction thingy going for ya, Jay?

"Based on one of mankind's most time-tested sciences, Jyotish,
(_no experimentation here_!) the India-Pakistan reunification
should occur on our about July 26, 2000 (the date of the final
signing of the pact.)"

IS SANATAN DHARM A MONOTHEIST RELIGION?

Non-Dualist/ Monistic, Monotheism and the Polytheism

By Rabinder Kumar Koul

Very often limitations of our language bind us and cannot let us see
beyond these limitations. The Judeo-Christian- Islamic traditions are
bound by these inner constructs. They can only classify the world's
spiritual traditions in to Monotheistic and polytheistic traditions.
These are the blinders put on them by the nature of their discourse.
This classification is not broad enough to encompass the non-Judeo-
Christian-Islamic traditions. This classification is thrust on the
Judeo-Christian- Islamic traditions because they posit two separate
class of realities. First one of these two realities is called God,
and the other realities are every thing else "that is", and is
different from God. In general, God creates these from no-where and
can vanquish these in to non-existence. There is no connection
between the nature of the God and the nature of the other realities.
Thus, Judeo-Christian reality is of many kinds. There is God, then
there are angles, then there are Men, women, then beasts and then in-
animate things. All of these are distinct from each other and are
fundamentally different in Judeo-Christian- Islamic worldviews. Such
a model of the reality is called the Polyistic model of the reality.
God is just one category of reality in their worldview (even though
highest) but in existence are many different kinds of realities,
completely dis-jointed from each other in a fundamental way. In other
words, the Judeo-Christian- Islamic view of the reality is a
collection of distinct and un-connected realities, which are
fundamentally different in Character from each other. Looking from
this perspective, their reality view is Polyistic worldview. Also
note that these traditions have no basis of substantiating their
first category of reality they call God/Allah etc. while living.
Therefore, the system is not only Polyistic but also, only a faith.
I.e. Ask no questions and I will tell you no lies.

On the other hand, the scientific worldview as propounded by the
modern Physics is Non-dualistic worldview. Based on the experimental
observations and the internal consistency arguments, it claims that
there exists one fundamental reality (principal) from which both the
space-time and matter along with their dynamics arises. This eventual
reality (principal), call it Grand-unified- Quantum-Gravitat ional
reality, is what is hinted at by the modern Physics. Even though this
ultimate description is not with us currently, but we have a large
portion of it already at hand. The success of the modern physics is
testimony to that. Thus modern physics emphasizes that the ultimate
reality is one from which all else comes forth and that all else is
fundamentally tied to this underlying existent through dynamics with
some symmetry breaking/phase transition processes. The diversity of
the states of mater and the geometry of the space-time arises out of
this principal by some symmetry breaking principals inherently
contained in the theory. This Scientific view of reality is Non-
dualistic fundamentally at variance from the Judeo-Christian Islamic
worldview. Even though an conscious observer plays a fundamental part
in the outcomes of an experiments of this theory, there is no
explicit explanation or incorporation of the main characteristic of
observer, namely its consciousness/ awareness aspect in to the
theory. However Non-dualistic world view rules.

Indian traditions cannot be captured by the classification categories
of the Monotheistic and polytheistic categories. Because, this
classification ignores the reality (existence) as a whole and is
focused only on the category called God (Which is considered purely
an issue of faith). Indian traditions on the other hand considers all
existent reality as a whole, no aspect of which can be ignored, and
has a strong emphasis on the experiential component. Thus the
monotheistic and the polytheistic classification can not capture the
Indian notion of existent/"Sata"

Indian traditions also provide a classification scheme which is broad
enough to capture all views of reality, be it Judeo-Christian-
Islamic, Indian, or Modern Scientific traditions. This reality
classification scheme is given as

o Non-Dualistic Reality: It has two possibilities as given below.

o No-Reality (Nihilistic view)

o Non-dualistic (Monistic) View (There is only one reality and
every thing else arises from it)

o Dualistic Reality: There are at least two distinct realities o
Polyistic Reality: There are many distinct realities

Indian Vedic, Agamic/Tantric, Budhist, Jaina and Sikh traditions are
all fall in to one of these as shown below.

Non-Dual Tradition

No-reality Exists Budhism / Jainism

One reality Exists Advaitic Traditions / Modern Scientific view

Dualistic traditions Nyaya/Yoga/Vaishish kA/Dvaita Shiva, Vaishnava
Traditions/ Sikhism

Polyistic Tradition Sankhya/ Judeo-Christian- Islam

Even though Advaitic traditions posit only one kind of reality, there
is more than one variety of Advaita. The difference is in the
details. The consciousness plays a central role in the Advaitic
traditions of India and every thing else eventually is shown either
to be evolutes from it or only an appearance. Hence it also
incorporates the aspect of Consciousness which Modern physics does
not address even though it plays a central role as an observer. This
part is on-going work in Physics. In Advaitic traditions too, in my
perspective a modern understanding of the evolutes of the TatvAs have
to be better understood. That is a different story.

Connection to Polytheism: Let me address this from the non-dualistic
point of view. In Advaitic SivA, the ultimate reality becomes all
different names and forms. Thus, all form are equally sanctified and
sacred and worthy of worship. (That is why we greet by saying
NamaskAra). Here in lay the true roots of, what is called,
Polytheism. Notice, even here when one worships no aspect of the
existence is ignored. The Polytheism arises directly from the deep
experience of the non-dualistic tradition. Monotheistic tradition
falls far short of that and is completely oblivious towards the
nature of all other existent reality. In fact, it is in direct
contradiction of the messages from the modern physics since it
considers all different existents as de-separate.

On the other hand, if that non-dual reality posits reality as
appearance only, then the foundation of this appearance of the form
is the one ultimate reality in that form. In that case, one is always
worshiping that ultimate principal in a given form.

Therefore the attempts to show that Hinduism is monotheistic are
misplaced, for its roots lay far deeper experiential ideals, and
deals with the reality as a whole. For Non-dualistic traditions may
contain (but not necessarily) the monotheistic aspect but in reality
transcends it. The attempt to show otherwise is indicative of mis-
understanding of Indian traditions.

Victims of Islamic bigotry

By Anuradha Dutt
Op-Ed
The Pioneer
Thursday, February 25, 2010

The beheading of Sikhs in Pakistan and the assault on a temple at
Sonargaon in Bangladesh point towards the plight of non-Muslims in
Muslim majority countries. The situation is clearly intolerable and
India must exercise its moral authority to come to the aid of
innocent victims

Even as political parties that nurture minority (read Muslim) vote-
banks prepare to grant further privileges to the community under the
guise of alleviating social and economic backwardness, and lakhs of
illegal Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants procure property and voting
rights, one just needs to look across India's western and eastern
flanks to ascertain how Sikh and Hindu minorities in Muslim majority
nations are being persecuted. In the latest of a series of communal
assaults on them, two Sikhs were beheaded by the Pakistani Taliban
for their reported failure to convert to Islam. A grief-stricken
Taranjit Singh, cousin of Jaspal Singh, one of the decapitated men,
praised Jaspal for choosing martyrdom over the ignominy of forced
conversion. The other reason cited for the decapitation is the
deadline having passed for payment of ransom of Rs 3 crore to the
abductors. Two other Sikhs are still in the Taliban's captivity.

In Bangladesh, on February 6, a gang of men, 30-35 in number,
vandalised the Sonargaon temple, an ancient Hindu pilgrimage in
Narayanganj district, and damaged six idols. The supposedly secular
Indian intelligentsia and media, which suffered an apoplectic fit as
a result of the Babri Masjid demolition, largely ignored the assault.
Neither did Right-wing groups, posing as custodians of Hindu
interests, bother to raise the issue. Yet, to dreg up the past, the
Muslim backlash to the Babri Masjid demolition on December 6, 1992
was marked by the ancient Dhakeshwari shaktipeeth in Dhaka being
vandalised and Hindus being butchered; and over a hundred shrines,
including those of Jains and Sikhs, being damaged in Pakistan, and a
Jain temple being razed. In Britain, a temple was razed by a vengeful
mob, and gurudwaras and Hindu shrines attacked. Muslim expatriates
from the subcontinent attacked the Indian Embassy at Teheran, and
rose in protest in Arab countries though Arabs themselves observed
restraint.

The assault on the Sonargaon shrine as well as the beheading simply
draws attention to the plight of non-Muslims in regions, where
Islamic bigotry has reared up in a ferocious avatar. Under the
previous Bangladesh Government, reports of snatching of land, owned
by Hindus, were common; and majority of rape cases were registered by
Hindu women. Such persecution forced many Hindus to flee their homes
and seek refuge here. In Afghanistan and Pakistan, where the
Taliban's writ runs, besides Sikhs and Hindus, minority Christians
too are on the run from marauders, criminals and fanatics, posing as
the true flag-bearers of Islam. They are being forced to pay jizya,
protection money or survival tax, in order to ensure their safety, to
extortionists. In Iraq, too, according to reports, Christian families
are being coerced by gun-toting men to pay jizya or leave.

The poll tax levied on non-Muslims in Muslim countries in exchange
for state protection draws sanction from the Quran (Al-Tawbah 9:29).
The imposition of jizya and the accompanying violence in lawless
areas is a throwback to the past, when crusading Islamic conquerors
subjugated 'infidel natives' either on the point of the sword via
forced conversions or spared their lives in exchange for the payment
of protection money:

"Summon the people to god; those who respond to your call, accept it
from them, but those who refuse must pay the poll tax out of
humiliation and lowliness. If they refuse this, it is the sword
without leniency. Fear god with regard to what you have been
entrusted." (Al Tabari, Volume XII)

Umar ibn al-Khattab during the conquest of al-Basrah (636 CE)

The conquest of Sindh by Muhammed Bin Qasim in the early 8th century
AD led to imposition of jizya on Hindu and Buddhist natives. In
return, they were free to follow their own religions. This set the
precedent for some of the Islamic rulers who followed him into India.
The empire-builders among them, the Mughals, alternated between
Islamic severity and kingly graciousness in their treatment of non-
Muslims. However, the Sikhs, as a militant sect, came into conflict
with them. Emperors Jahangir and Aurangzeb clashed with two of the
Sikh gurus Arjan Dev and Tegh Bahadur, respectively, and had them put
to death. The four sons and mother of Guru Govind Singh, the last in
the line, were also martyred for resisting imposition of Islam, as
were thousands of others. The differentiation between Muslims and
infidels often owed to political compulsions.

But such intolerance is an anachronism in today's rapidly shrinking
world. There are ulterior motives behind religious bigotry. Hugh
Fitzgerald, of JihadWatch, states on his internet site DhimmiWatch:

"Elsewhere, as in Pakistan and Bangladesh, the Hindus and Christians
live in a state of permanent physical danger, and that danger also is
one of losing their property to Muslim looters and marauders who
cannot be sued or brought to justice on the say-so of a non-Muslim...
There is no security for the property of non-Muslims in Muslim lands,
and there are various ways in which the 'protection money' that is
the jizya is paid...".

Religious bigotry is thus also a convenient pretext for extortion and
grabbing minorities' property, and making them abandon their homes.

Grave blunder to talk to Pakistan

By Shobori Ganguli
Editorial
The Pioneer
Thursday, February 25, 2010

By the time this appears in print, India will have committed its
second worst diplomatic blunder of this decade, the first of course
being the shameful India-Pakistan Agra Summit of 2001. Today, the
Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan will sit across the table
to talk about talks. Resumed at India's behest, a fact Pakistan is
justly gloating about, the meeting is intended to address New Delhi's
terror concerns.

However, it is nothing short of a grave blunder to sit across the
negotiating table with a country that displays no intention of
revising its intransigent reluctance to address India's concerns over
repeated acts of terror, the latest as recent as the February 13 Pune
blast. Admittedly, Pakistan cannot be faulted with in this 'talks'
initiative. True to character, it has obdurately refused to honour
even a single demand placed by India on the table following the
deplorable 26/11 attacks on Mumbai. Rogue to the core, it has
systematically flouted every rule of diplomacy and good neighbourly
conduct since 1947. It has talked Kashmir each time India has
screamed terror. The 26/11 perpetrators, their predecessors and
successors, continue to breathe free and spew anti-India venom from
across the border. Yet, we are made to witness India's shocking
decision to invite an unreformed Pakistan for talks.

India's regrettable haste in this latest dialogue initiative is
indeed inexplicable. After all, 26/11 was cited as the proverbial
last straw that led to suspension of talks in the first place. What
then has changed in the interim for the two countries to resume
dialogue? If at all, there has been yet another heinous terror attack
in Pune that has claimed 16 lives, mostly innocent students, an
inhuman act that the Pakistan-based Jamaat-ud-Dawa'h has openly
claimed prior knowledge of. Further, Sikhs are being mercilessly
beheaded by the Taliban in Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province.
Amid all this, India seems to be mindlessly ceding its bargaining
options, one by one, to Pakistan. This was strongly underlined when,
under obvious US pressure, it revised its post-26/11 'no talks'
stand. Given India's grave security concerns, such pressure ought to
have been firmly resisted. On the contrary, New Delhi now seems to be
of the startling opinion that the best way to get Islamabad to act on
terror is to actually start talking again.

Arguably, this premise could be defended. After all, there is no
point in alienating a neighbour to the extent that it turns
completely deaf to our genuine concerns; talking could perhaps drill
some sense into that country's establishment. However, there is an
existent ground reality in Pakistan which India seems to have
shockingly lost sight of. From the day it first made the offer of
talks, several Pakistani voices, jihadi and official alike, have
suddenly started talking about all "outstanding issues" as the basis
for resumption of dialogue. Much as New Delhi may delude itself into
thinking that today's Foreign Secretary level talks are going to be
solely dedicated to terror, statements emanating from Pakistan
indicate that "all issues of concern to both" is what they have in
mind.

To that end, certain goalposts are being unilaterally shifted by
Pakistan even as India stands a mute spectator. All of a sudden there
is intense clamour in Pakistan about India's "water terrorism", with
former Information Minister Mohammed Ali Durrani going to the extent
of threatening that "the water issue could prove to be a nuclear
flashpoint between the neighbours". Urging global intervention, he
says India's "hegemonic" behaviour could "ignite a nuclear war".
Aware that Kashmir alone cannot fetch Pakistan global sympathy any
longer and also that there is growing domestic unrest over the water
issue, the Pakistani establishment is now playing its age-old
diversionary games, hitherto restricted to Kashmir. Pakistan Foreign
Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has categorically said that during
talks with India, more "tangible issues" like the water dispute would
take precedence over Kashmir.

Even as the Pakistani establishment is visibly and audibly pushing
the hard line, the jihadis are posting macabre messages India's way.
If JuD chief Hafiz Saeed screams, "Ek Bombay kya hota hai (One Mumbai
is not enough)", his deputy Abdur Rehman Makki asserts, "Muslims
dying of thirst would drink blood of India". Makki's views are not
significantly different from the official Pakistani line, Prime
Minister downwards, that says India wants to destroy Pakistan by
cutting off its water, that it is turning Pakistan into a desert and
will starve it to death. Suddenly, water is a 'core' bilateral issue,
a definition hitherto reserved for Kashmir. Shockingly, the
terrorists, in sync with the establishment, have moved beyond
Kashmir, vowing to unleash jihad on India in the name of water. With
this declaration coming only days ahead of talks, and the Pakistani
establishment doing precious little to curb such diabolism, India
should have ideally demanded a clear statement of intent from
Pakistan before resuming talks.

Predictably, Pakistan is once again putting on the shameless and
baseless 'terror victim' act. Mr Qureshi has said, "If their concerns
are about Hafiz Saeed and Mumbai attacks, let them put it on the
table. If we've concerns about Balochistan, let us put it on the
table." Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir says raising the
Hafiz Saeed issue would be "counter-productive" and that if counter-
terrorism is indeed raised Balochistan must find mention. Déjà vu,
indeed: The ignominy at Sharm el-Sheikh last July when Balochistan
first became part of an India-Pakistan joint statement is still fresh
in public memory. Mr Qureshi has, in fact, warned that, "We should
de-link negotiations from such acts (of terror). There are such acts
taking place in Pakistan. We're victims of terrorism. At times,
foreign nationals are involved in these acts in Pakistan. Does it
mean that we should cut ties with those countries?" No prizes for
guessing which "countries" he is talking about. So much for
Pakistan's self-declared "constructive" approach.

With the jihadis' recalcitrance matching that of the Pakistani
establishment's, there is very little by way of forward movement that
India can hope for through talks. One is, therefore, amazed at the
Manmohan Singh Government's sudden willingness to talk to a country
that is literally holding the gun to India's head even as its Home
Minister refuses to negotiate with the Maoists at home till they
abjure violence. Surely, what stands to reason for internal security
cannot significantly alter when it comes to national security? Last
heard, there was firing by Pakistani troops at Indian soldiers in
Jammu's Samba sector, only hours ahead of the talks!

jai and harmony aren't Indian, jai has been a yank for most of his life,
and harmony doesn't know what he is, just a stateless parasite.

There are plenty of very good people in India, but unfortunately many
areas still lack decent education and are at the mercy of local
primitive "leaders" who preach hatred over race/religion/whatever-else.

It's been the same all over the world at different times, people who
don't have communication with the rest of the world (ala Internet,
travel and so on) and don't have a real education, and live in insular
communities, perpetuate ancient and primitive hatreds and tabboos.

As education and communication spreads people get to see the much bigger
picture and slowly but surely reject the teachings of these fuckwits.
India will get there, but with a population of their size it's a very
difficult task to root out and repair this sort of thing but as time
goes on things will sort themselves out.

Even though you are a hater I will point out that Brittan was the one who
introduced the caste system so they could use it to control people. It has

I am a Hindu.

My post from last year:

HINDUISM IS NOT TO BLAME FOR TYRANNY OF CASTE SYSTEM

By Dr. Vidya Bhushan Gupta

The vast majority of Westerners believe that Hinduism ranks its
followers according to caste.

Missionaries have used caste to convert Hindus, and politicians
throughout the world have used it to chastise India for social ills
ranging from poverty to nuclear explosions. Hindus have been tarred
with labels such as "Homo hierarchical." And Hinduism has been
characterized as a religion that teaches indifference to the plight
of fellow human beings.

Is the doctrine of caste rooted in revealed Hindu scriptures? Or
did victorious invaders insert it into secondary scriptures in
order to maintain their dominance?

The Vedas, Hinduism's only revealed scriptures, mention varna (from
Sanskrit root vri, meaning "to choose"), a fourfold classification
of chosen vocations. According to the allegory of cosmic Purusha in
the Vedas, all people are created from the same God. The
intellectuals are Brahmins who, like the brain of the cosmic
Purusha, think and speak; the warriors, like the arms, defend;
vaisyas (traders and farmers), like the thighs and the abdomen,
produce and consume; and the shudras (untouchables), like the feet,
do physical labor.

A text in the great Indian epic "Mahabharata" categorically states
that originally there were no classes; all people were Brahmanic to
begin with. The existing distribution arose from character and
occupation. Those given to sensual pleasures and violence became
warriors; those who subsisted by agriculture became vaisyas, and so
on. Thus, group membership was determined by aptitude and attitude,
not by birth.

In ancient times, there were examples of people who moved from one
class to another because of the vocation they chose. For example,
Valmiki, who was an untouchable, became a Brahmin, author, and a
sage after he changed his wild ways and wrote the Hindu epic
"Raamaayan."

Caste or jati as we see today, the hierarchical division of society
into about 2,000 rigid professional groups, is not mentioned in the
Vedas; however, the word "jati" is mentioned once as a group of
people born from a common progenitor. Caste seems to have been
juxtaposed on the concept of varna in secondary Hindu scriptures
such as the Puranas and Manusmriti at a later date. According to
one of the Puranas, in the beginning of time the whole human race
was of uniform perfection and happiness. Separation into castes did
not take place until a later time, when human behavior
deteriorated.

We can only speculate about the reasons for the corruption of these
secondary scriptures. Was it done to maintain the dominance of the
victorious Aryans over the dark-skinned Dravidians (another meaning
of the word "varna" is color)? Was it done to maintain a constant
supply of skilled and semiskilled laborers?

Assigning a specific role to every individual helped India maintain
social order in the face of the barbarian attacks in medieval
times, according to Abbe Dubois, a Christian missionary who worked
in India in the last century. A similar order was also prevalent in
ancient Egypt.

Although this rigid division of labor helped Indian villages
survive political upheavals, it became an instrument of
exploitation and oppression. People who were born from a union of
higher and lower castes and those who did not belong to any caste
became pariahs or untouchables, living on the fringes of society.

Caste is a sociocultural phenomenon in South Asia, not an article
of Hindu faith. Even the most conservative Muslims of Pakistan and
Sikhs of Punjab are caste-conscious. A 27-year-old Pakistani man
attending an American university was prohibited by his conservative
Muslim father from marrying a woman out of his caste. High-caste
Sikhs do not marry among low-caste Sikhs.

Such distinctions are not unusual in societies that have a long
history of colonialism. Catholics were treated as belonging to a
lower caste during the heyday of British rule in Ireland. The
British treated Indians of all castes as pariahs during the days of
the Raj. Slavery existed among the Hebrews in ancient Israel. St.
Paul regarded slavery as legal. "Let every man remain in the
calling in whch he was called. Wast thou a slave when called? Let
it not trouble thee" (1 Corinthians 7:2O-21).

St. Augustine considered slavery an expression of divine order, as
a punishment for sins. Thus the Hindu scriptures cannot be faulted
for caste any more than the Bible can be faulted for slavery.
Social evils are a product of the time, and scriptures should be
interpreted in their historical context.

Though the injustice of the caste system lingers in sections of
Indian society, Hindus and the Indian government have made great
efforts to eliminate this evil. Two reformers of the 19th century,
Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Swami Dayananda, worked tirelessly to argue
the case against casteism.

Dayananda correctly interpreted the Vedas to prove that varna does
not refer to color but to choice, to choose a profession according
to one's aptitude and attitude. Mahatma Gandhi embraced the
untouchables as children of God, lived among them, and died among
them.

India's founding fathers abolished untouchability in 1949 and
incorporated an affirmative-action plan in the constitution. The
Indian constitution guarantees 22.5 percent of the seats for
untouchables and people of lower castes. Affirmative action has
increased to the extent of 50 percent in a few states. India's
current president is from a lower class.

Short of a revolution followed by authoritarian rule, this is the
best Hindus could have done to redeem themselves from the social
sin of caste. Let's not disregard Hinduism's positive aspects:
seeing the world as one family; looking at the virtues in others,
not at their color or caste; and recognizing that God of one color
has produced people of different colors for beauty's sake.
Meanwhile, we must maintain the reform that began more than 50
years ago.

I'm even more confused now. What is a aptitude and why is one group more
superior than the other? Obviously the British tried to use it for their own
advantage.

Ok maybe that one was but why is it whenever there is an attack the Indian

U.K. Religious Schools Forced to Promote Abortion, Homosexuality under Sex-Ed Bill

By Hilary White
lifesitenews.com
Monday, February 22, 2010

London, February 23, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Britain's Labour
government clarified this week that an amendment to the Children,
Schools and Families bill, that says faith schools may teach the
mandatory Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) program "in a
way that reflects the school's religious character," does not, in
fact, give the schools freedom to oppose abortion, contraception and
homosexual activity on moral grounds.

The clarification has been hailed by a local pro-life and pro-family
group as evidence that the spectre of "totalitarianism" has
reappeared in Britain.

A recent statement [1] from the Department for Children, Schools and
Families (DCSF), made in response to protests from homosexualist
groups against the government amendment, said, "Faith schools cannot
opt out of statutory [sex and relationships education] lessons when
it comes into effect in September 2011."

"All maintained schools and academies will be required to teach the
full programmes of study in line with the principles outlined in the
Bill including promoting equality and encouraging acceptance of
diversity. Schools with a religious character will be free, as they
are now, to express the views of their faith and reflect the ethos of
their school, but what they cannot do is suggest that their views are
the only ones."

The statement quotes Minister Ed Balls telling the Daily Telegraph
that religious schools should indeed be "forced" to teach pupils that
homosexuality is "normal and harmless."

Balls said, "If their faith has a view in scripture, they can inform
pupils of that. What they must not do is teach discrimination. They
must be absolutely clear about the importance of civil partnerships
[and that] bullying of homosexuals is wrong." This is in line with
previous statements [2] from Labour ministers that religious schools
will not be allowed to teach their religious tenets "as if they are
true."

On Tuesday, Balls told BBC Radio 4's Today program that in addition
to promoting homosexuality, religious schools will also be required
to promote abortion as a solution to unplanned pregnancy.

Until the passage of this bill, religious schools had the option to
teach children that homosexual activity, abortion and contraception
are wrong. But that situation, he said, "changes radically with this
bill."

"What this changes is that for the first time these schools cannot
just ignore these issues or teach only one side of the argument. They
also have to teach that there are different views on homosexuality.
They cannot teach homophobia. They must explain civil partnership.

"They must give a balanced view on abortion, they must give both
sides of the argument, they must explain how to access an abortion,
the same is true on contraception as well," Balls said. Balls backed
up [3] his insistence that faith schools will be forced to abandon
their religious beliefs, in a letter to the London Times.

Balls went on to thank Archbishop Vincent Nichols, the head of the
English Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, and the
Catholic Education Service (CES) for their support of the bill. It
was revealed [4] by the government last week that the CES had
actually assisted in drafting the legislation.

Balls said, "To have the support of the Catholic Church and
Archbishop Nichols in these changes is, I think, very, very
important, is a huge step forward. . . The Catholic Church, which I
really welcome, is supporting, for the first time, compulsory sex
education with an opt out at 15 [years]."

Anthony Ozimic, communications manager for the Society for the
Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN),
"People outside the UK must know that the British government's
ideologues are just as radical but even more cunning than the French
Revolutionaries."

SPUC is lobbying against the passage of the bill, and accuses CES of
collaborating with a radically secularist, anti-Christian government
that is bent on expanding abortion and homosexuality and suppressing
freedom of religious expression.

After the Catholic Education Service took credit for the government's
amendment implying that faith schools will be allowed to teach their
religious tenets, SPUC responded, "The only people likely to be
pleased with the press reports about the misinterpretation of this
amendment are the Catholic Education Service (CES), who want Catholic
parents and Catholic schools to think they are sticking up for them,
when in fact they are betraying their principles."

Paul Tully, SPUC's political manager, said that CES has only helped
the bill to pass by pursuing the amendment. "SPUC condemns the action
of the Catholic Education Service (CES) . . . The CES does not
represent Catholic teaching on sex education, and its betrayal of
Catholic families is widely lamented within the Catholic Church."

Anthony Ozimic said, "Compromise and accommodation with this
government will result, not in government concessions, but in
increased persecution of those who stand up for life and family.

"Catholics in particular have been placed in this grave situation by
an unholy alliance, forged by the fake Catholic Tony Blair, between
the English bishops and the Labour government. The spectre of
totalitarianism, which was seen from Britain in Eastern Europe during
the Cold War, has reappeared, this time in Britain itself."

"lifesitenews", Please, let us control your life! Why, because we always
know better, that's why.
Thank God! A government wise enough to tell religious schools what they can
and can't teach!
When will the U.S.A. catch up to the U.K.
Religion, bad. Sex education, a blessing from god .

No, I am not a hater; I was not brought up as a Muslim or a Christian.
I am a Hindu. And if you publish your false accusation again, and if I
see it, I'll deny it again.

Yes indeed.

Sounds like hate to me. That is what Christians and Muslims think as well.

Not in Kashmir and all along the Indo-Pak border, they won't. But
hopefully, the bloodsucking jyotishitheads will soon be neutralized as
Indians become more globally aware.

Why, is there a 300-year statute of limitations? There are
numerous instances of forced conversions by Christians in this
day and age also. Here's a news item from http://christianaggression.com
that I posted four years ago:

Two arrested for forcing woman to convert

Posted January 19, 2006
Kendrapada, Orissa
January 18, 2006 8:15:06 PM IST
webindia123.com

At least two persons have been arrested for allegedly
assaulting a Hindu woman and setting her house on fire in
Orissa after she refused to change her religion, police
said Wednesday.

The woman Kabita Mallik, a resident of Matiapada village
in the coastal district of Jajpur with two children to
support was eking out a meagre living doing household
work at nearby houses, ever since her husband disappeared
five years ago.

Her husband Purnachandra Mallick had gone to New Delhi to
work as a plumber, but did not return.

Three villagers Gunanidhi Mallick, Tikan Mallick and
Kulmani Mallick, recent converts to Christianity, were
persuading her to adopt a similar step, which she was
resisting, a senior district police official told IANS
citing the complaint lodged by the woman.

The trio Tuesday allegedly assaulted her and set afire
her thatched house as she refused to convert, according
to the complaint.

The fire also engulfed five nearby houses.

"Acting on the complaint, we have arrested Kulamani
Mallick and Gunanidhi Mallick on charges of attempting
forced conversion, assault on the woman and torching of
her house," the police official said.

Another culprit Tikan Mallick is absconding, he added.

The arrested persons were produced before the local sub-
divisional judicial magistrate's court Wednesday. The
court rejected their bail applications and remanded them
in judicial custody.

Meanwhile, tension mounted in the village and nearby
areas after this incident. Senior police officials rushed
to take stock of the situation.

While state Christian leaders described the charge as
false, leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, who visited
the village, alleged that some people were forcing people
to convert, which was in gross violation of the Orissa
Hindu Religion Freedom Act.

Well, Jay, you have clearly established that you hate Christians,
Muslims, the western way of life, western philosophy, etc. Keeping that
in mind:

"One trusts that religions, philosophies and ways of life that are
enemies of Hindus will be destroyed. For the sake of efficiency,
their mutual destruction is preferred."
Jay Stevens Maharaj, 1/12/10

Thus you have not only expressed hatred of most of the world, but also a
desire to "destroy" them. You have exposed yourself as a terrorist.

Violence against Christians in the eastern India state of Orissa is the
worst ever to occur, claims a report from the All India Christian
Council (AICC).

Two reports published by the AICC asserts, Dalits - formerly known as
'Untouchables' - were the main group to be affected by the violence.

AICC sent four of their leaders to the area on a fact-finding mission
and says more than 95 churches were either vandalised or destroyed, 730
homes belonging to Christians being burned down.

The team revealed that the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) instigated the
attacks and carefully targeted Christians throughout Kandhamal District,
Orissa

"We are saddened to acknowledge the violence in Orissa will go into the
history books as an unprecedented attack on Christians in India. The
tragedy is deepened by proof that the violence was avoidable if the
authorities had enforced the rule of law," said Dr Joseph D'souza, AICC
President.

"Many have expressed outrage with the authorities and Hindutva
extremists whose actions hurt innocent people during Christmas - a
season of peace across the world.

"But we must express our anger and frustration in a peaceful manner,"
said D'souza.

National church bodies in India have demanded access to the troubled
Kandhamal region of Orissa state to distribute relief and visit the
families affected.

---------------------------------------------------

A Catholic nun was burnt alive by a group of Hindu fundamentalists who
stormed the orphanage she ran in the district of Bargarh (Orissa), this
according to Police Superintendent Ashok Biswall. A priest who was at
the orphanage was also badly hurt and is now being treated in hospital
for multiple burns. Another nun from Bubaneshwars Social Centre was
gang raped by groups of Hindu extremists before the building housing the
facility was set on fire. Sources also told AsiaNews that elsewhere one
priest was wounded and two other were abducted. The list of violent
anti-Christian acts is thus getting longer.

For the past two days the state of Orissa (north-east India) has been
racked by violence following the assassination of radical Hindu leader
Swami Laxanananda Saraswati.

Churches, community and pastoral centres, convents and orphanages have
been attacked yesterday and today by mobs shouting Kill the Christians;
destroy their institutions.

Tensions in the state are in fact still running high. The Vishwa Hindu
Parishad (VHP) has planned demonstrations for today and tomorrow. Gangs
of Hindu fanatics from the VHP as well as Sangh Parivar are roaming
roads and villages, setting up road blocks, sending their own members on
raids of plunder and violence.

According to firsthand accounts the archdioceses social centre was
attacked and torched. Before that the attackers raped Sister Meena, a
nun working at the centre.

The local pastoral centre, which has escaped destruction in last
Decembers violence, is now a total wreck. Father Thomas, who ran the
facility, is in hospital with serious head injuries.

Speaking to AsiaNews Fr Ajay Singh also said that a nun was burnt alive
in an orphanage she ran in the district of Bargarh.

Elsewhere Sisters of Mother Teresa have been attacked by stone-throwing
Hindu militants with one seriously injured.

All Christian institutions are now in danger because mobs of Hindu
radicals are roaming the streets, breaking down doors and smashing
windows, including in some cases Christian homes. Many priests and nuns
have had to escape.

In Bubaneshwar Hindu militants stoned the Archbishops residence, but
did not dare invade the place because of police presence.

In Phulbani the parish church and the home of local clergy were attacked
and set on fire. All local priests fled and found refuge in the homes of
some of members of the local congregation.

The youth hostel that houses students who study in Phulbani has also
been torched.

Some missionaries of Charity who were attending a health course in
Brahamanigoan were blocked for hours in the village.

Elsewhere nuns left their convent finding shelter in some school buildings.

Christians: The Sangh Parivar's new target

20 Sep 2008, 0908 hrs IST, IANS

Although Christians were described as internal enemies in Guru
Golwalkar's catechism of hate, "Bunch of Thoughts", they were not
targeted by the
Sangh Parivar - the right-wing Hindu nationalist political grouping - as
systematically as at present.

The Parivar's primary enemies were always the Muslims. They were accused
of having invaded the country from the eighth century onwards, destroyed
temples during the medieval period and finally partitioned the country
in 1947. Islamic terrorism is the latest addition to this list of sins.

Now, however, the wrath of the saffron brotherhood, led by the Rashtriya
Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), has turned on the Christians with attacks
against them by the Hindutva warriors in states ranging from Orissa to
Karnataka to Kerala.

About a decade ago, Gujarat also saw such depredations by the saffron
activists, mainly in the Dangs area. The state is mercifully quiet now,
presumably because Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Minister Narendra
Modi has realised that murder and mayhem directed against the
minorities, as in the 2002 riots, can hinder the state's economic
development - apart from depriving him of a visa to visit the US.

At the time of the outbreak in the Dangs, Orissa too saw the beginnings
of violence against Christians. The most heinous incident was the
burning alive of the Australian missionary, Graham Staines, and his two
young sons in 1999.

For the RSS the work of the missionaries has always been like a red rag
to a bull. It regards religious conversions as an assault on Hindu
belief and culture and has, therefore, started its own drive to
reconvert the Christians back into their original faith.

The violence in the Kandhamal area of Orissa has followed the
assassination of a head of one such RSS mission, allegedly by Maoists,
although an RSS pamphlet has ascribed it to Christian "terrorists". The
burning of churches and attacks on isolated villagers have since spread
to Mangalore in Karnataka and also to Kasaragod in Kerala.

It is worth noting that the BJP is in power in two of these states -
Orissa and Karnataka. Clearly, the rampaging Hindutva cadres expect the
police to be less enthusiastic in checking them in Orissa and Karnataka
than in any other state.

The murder of Staines and his sons, for instance, was conveniently
ascribed by George Fernandes, convener of the BJP-led National
Democratic Alliance (NDA) to an "international conspiracy" although
subsequently a local saffron sympathiser was convicted for the crime.

The issue of conversions in Kandhamal has been complicated by the fact
that the converts from the Scheduled Caste or Dalit communities have
been demanding the Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Adivasi (original inhabitant)
status to avail themselves of the reservations in jobs and educational
institutions to which STs are entitled.

While such violence relating to reservations is not uncommon in India,
as the confrontation between the Rajasthan government and the Gujjars
not long ago showed, the objective of the Hindutva brigade is different
as it is motivated by the idea of converting India into a Hindu rashtra.

Although Christians are a far smaller minority group than the Muslims -
a mere 2.3 per cent of the total population against the 13.4 per cent of
the Muslims - there are a number of reasons why the RSS is more worried
about them.

One is that the Muslims suffer at present from the worldwide taint of
terrorism, which evokes little sympathy for their plight. Moreover,
their depressed condition is ascribed to a ghettoized existence, the
veiling of women and the generally poor educational standards because of
the community's dependence on madrassas or religion-oriented schools.

In contrast, Christians are seen as forward-looking while their
educational institutions at all levels are highly regarded. So are their
medical services. Historically, too, there is no record of conflicts
between Hindus and Christians as there is between Hindus and Muslims.

It will be a mistake, of course, to refer to the saffron activists
belonging to the RSS, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang
Dal as the true representatives of Hindus since they are mainly lumpen
elements who have been instigated by local politicians for partisan
purposes. But their capacity for mischief is obvious, especially in the
states run by their soulmates in the BJP.

The saffron hardliners also like to present inflated percentages of the
Christian and Muslim populations, evidently to create a fear psychosis
among the gullible about Hindus being swamped by such "aliens".

The unconvincing explanation for the discrepancy between their figures
and those of the official census is the presence of "crypto-Christians"
who do not disclose their real religious identity.

However, it is doubtful if the BJP can make any major political gains
from the targeting of Christians, for most Indians will tend to agree
with U R Anantha Murthy, the noted man of letters of Karnataka, that the
parivar is "destroying Hindu civilisation".

Pak can blow up India: A.Q. Khan

By DC Correspondent
The Deccan Chronicle
Sunday, February 21, 2010

Islamabad, Feb. 20 - Pakistan's disgraced nuclear scientist Dr Abdul
Qadeer Khan has said that in the event of a nuclear war, Pakistan can
inflict irreparable damage to India.

"Neither India can inflict any loss to Pakistan nor destroy Lahore.
However, Pakistan can inflict irreparable loss on India (in case of a
nuclear war)," Dr Khan said.

He, however, said, "Neither we can conquer New Delhi and Agra, nor
India can destroy Lahore and dare to inflict loss on Pakistan."

Talking to this newspaper, he said, "We are Muslims and India is a
Hindu state and an isolated country. But we (the Muslims) talk more
and work very less."

About giving civil nuclear technology to India by the US, he said
that the Americans do not like to extend such generosity to the
Muslim countries.

"The worries of the Western countries about falling of Pakistani
nuclear arsenal into the hands of militants are unfounded. The US
does not trust Pakistan but has confidence in India," Dr Khan said.

The scientist rejected that he exported nuclear secrets to any
country including Iran.

"This was a drama created (former military ruler) Mr Pervez
Musharraf. He is a liar and tried to falsely implicate me," the
scientist said.

"He should be tried under treason charges for levelling allegations
on me," he added.

I dare say that A.Q. Khan is a rogue of the worst kind that mankind
has ever seen. He should just shut up. Time will tell what is the
power of India and what India can do. He and scores of his ideology
followers should realize that in spite of India's supremacy in every
field, India leads a peaceful life, including with the neighbours,
while the history shows that India never moved any aggressive step
towards any weaker nations including the kid Pakistan, which has come
from the Mother India. Pak has the credit to give its reins to a
criminal - a well known 10%, while India is ruled by team of scholars
with clean record. Don't provoke India. Don't misread India's
tolerance to your umpteen terror attacks, as weakness, as India has
better sense and thinks of those innocent civilians that include
children and women.

For a long time I had considered Dr. Khan an educated and a
visionary. However, some recent statements coming with his name have
forced me to think that he is having senior moments. This recent
statement, "Pak can blow up India" is just an example of his out of
line thinking.
